On my walk to the grocery store this Tuesday I saw that butter cream frosting was on sale. Yum! So I decided to be creative. I made a cake and cupcakes just to have fun decorating. I find that I enjoy decorating cakes even more than I love to eat them, believe it or not. I baked the cakes and cupcakes, and I colored the frosting bright vibrant colors. SO much fun! I took pictures just so I could post them.

Well, that night I planned on making french toast and sausage for dinner. Brian was helping with the sausage. Turns out, hot sausage grease and skin don't mix. He poured the grease into the grease can. . .and then proceeded to MOVE the hot can! It slipped and spilled over the backs of both of his hands. We decided to go to the ER where they gave him a narcotic for pain and a salve for the burns. I found that Brian is really fun on narcotics! He went back to work on Thursday with bandaged hands and he had his students guess how he got the burn with a multiple choice question:
Mr. Haven burn his hands by:
A. finding the last Horcrux.
B. getting so excited after the D-Backs game that while he was walking down the street he wrestled a bear with his bare hands.
C. he hugged his wife and she is just THAT hot!
D. finding that hot grease and skin don't mix.
The teachers at his school even coined the phrase "Poor Brian." If something goes wrong, they say "He pulled a Poor Brian."
Well, this week just goes to show that our family motto still fits our family: Every day, an adventure.
